Investment Risk Manager

Job Description:

  •  To provide leadership on private markets research  

  • To support the development and delivery of the investment service by producing high quality analytical work enabling effective and efficient decision making 

  • To support the set up and oversight of efficient investment processes, enabling the implementation of a scalable investment strategy

  • To implement and represent  vision, business plan and values

  • To provide support to the Investment Management Team’s internal and external customers

  • To lead on and act as a centre of expertise in private markets covering real assets, private equity and private debt including co-investments

  • Portfolio Manager to one or more funds responsible for developing investment strategy, oversight of existing managers and underlying investments, researching themes and new investment opportunities, risk management, and trade implementation via portfolio management system 

  • Responsibility for recording changes to investment strategy and ensuring changes are implemented.

  • Support the development and production of our reporting framework

  • Provide a strong and broad support service to the whole Investment function, helping with peaks in workloads and delivery to deadlines and standards

  • Show commitment to personal development

  • To perform all duties in line with Information Security policy

  • To comply with the Data Protection Policy

  Minimum Requirements:

  • Investment or Pensions in a fund management firm, fiduciary manager or an in-house occupational pension scheme

  • Knowledge of asset classes and investment strategies used by pensions schemes

  • private markets investments knowledge and experience  

  • Experience of using investment management systems

  • Critical reasoning skills

  • High level of numeracy/interpretation skills/ and written/verbal communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel and other MS Office software

  • Interest in pensions and investment issues

  • Confident approach and self-starter with an enquiring/problem solver mindset

  • Ability to deliver to deadlines

  • Customer focused approach

  • Ability to build effective working relationships.

  • University degree/CFA
