Job Description:

The focus of the role is contributing to a small, high-performing team within the Endowment team focused on engaging to improve the sustainability of their long-term multi-asset portfolio. The successful candidate will work directly with the Director of Engagement and support the delivery of their Dual Mandate and responsible investment goals. This involves engagement with corporates, fund managers, and other collaborative investor bodies.

  • Identify goals for their engagement activities with their Investment team and Foundation colleagues and implement them via direct corporate engagement and engaging with fund managers.
  • Actively collaborate with other investors and related networks on chosen issues.
  • Support the development and implementation of GSTF Dual Mandate.
  • Support the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of our Dual Mandate goals of financial return and positive impact.
  • Research sustainability trends, including attending events, and concisely present implications for our responsible investment mandate.
  • Support/lead with the preparation of Investment Committee materials, including updates on engagement priorities.

Minimum Requirements:

Ideal Experience  of 3-5 years can include but is not limited to any of the following areas: 

  • Investment management.
  • Engagement and wider influencing activities.
  • Working with multinational companies and/or change management within a business.
  • Monitoring and evaluation.  

Skills, abilities, and knowledge:

  • Clear strategic thinker – able to make clear choices in an environment where there is a complex range of objectives and risks.
  • Analytical rigour—able to research and analyse a lot of information and formulate succinct asks of a company. Competency in Excel/data analysis would be an advantage.
  • Innovative thinker – not afraid to propose new ways of approaching issues.
  • Tenacious influencer
  • Effective stakeholder management skills – with the ability to work collaboratively with a range of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative skills are essential. 
  • Good interpersonal and presentational skills – with the ability to communicate convincingly to a wide range of audiences.
  • Broad understanding of global securities markets and asset classes. 
  • Candidate must have interest in working for a mission aligned.
