Climate & Sustainability Reporting Manager – London
Own the full climate and sustainability reporting programme of a major UK institutional investor, and help shape how that reporting is automated for the future. This Climate & Sustainability Reporting Manager role in London sits at the intersection of risk, responsible investment and data.
About the business
Our client is a London-based institutional investment manager that invests on behalf of some of the UK's largest local government pension funds. Sustainability is built into how the firm invests rather than bolted on, and it is now moving into the next phase of its climate reporting agenda: scaling disclosures across entity, product and partner-fund level, and investing in the data and automation infrastructure that sits behind them.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end production of the entity-level TCFD/SDR report, product-level TCFD disclosures and portfolio TCFD reports for partner funds.
- Deliver Climate Risk Analytics Reports for the investment teams and the internal metrics that track progress against the firm's net zero targets.
- Extract, consolidate and validate climate and sustainability data from internal systems, external providers and delegate managers, working closely with the Responsible Investment and Stewardship teams.
- Maintain and enhance the firm's data models, calculation frameworks and reporting templates, setting the standard for consistency of data, assumptions and methodology.
- Act as a senior contributor to the sustainability data and reporting transformation programme: mapping data flows, defining requirements and testing new systems.
- Support the Head of Enterprise Risk on climate and wider sustainability risk assessment across the portfolio, and keep the business ahead of regulatory change.
What you'll bring
Essential:
- A strong track record in data management and reporting within asset management or wider financial services.
- Hands-on experience producing climate or sustainability reporting, with working knowledge of TCFD and related frameworks.
- Deep familiarity with climate datasets, including emissions and temperature-alignment metrics, and the realities of imperfect, multi-source data.
- Advanced Excel and the ability to build and maintain robust calculation models.
- A disciplined approach to data quality, with the judgement to challenge inputs and resolve issues at source.
- The credibility to engage senior stakeholders across investment, risk and client-facing teams, and to work autonomously to firm deadlines.
Also useful:
- Experience with reporting platforms such as Opus Nebula, or with ESG data providers and investment data systems.
- Exposure to regulatory or client reporting processes, or to reporting automation and process improvement work.
